Love-in-Action
To share the love of Jesus with those in need, L.I.A. offers a clothing store and a food pantry. Working with other Birmingham churches, L.I.A. is geared towards helping individuals and families within our immediate faith community who are in the midst of difficult circumstances.
For those in need of assistance, the center is open on the second Tuesday of each month and the following Saturday morning for half a day. Groceries and clothing are provided to families on an as-needed basis. L.I.A. cares for about 75 families per month, with the average family receiving around $150.00 in groceries each month .
In addition to the food pantry and clothing store, L.I.A. also assists individuals with financial help, including payment of utility and house bills, medical expenses, and car repairs. L.I.A is funded by gifts and offerings, and all distributions are on an as-available basis. Volunteer help is essential. You can get involved by helping stock the shelves, distributing items on Tuesdays and Saturdays, or offering financial assistance.
